About the role
Procurement Intelligence & Sustainability helps Fortum make data‑driven, responsible sourcing decisions and oversees key procurement development activities.
As a Summer Trainee, you will support our supplier sustainability and procurement initiatives. Depending on your profile, you can focus more on sustainability due diligence and supplier engagement, or data/market intelligence and analytics — or a blend of both.
Your assignments may include:

Supporting supplier sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing projects

Contributing to data analysis, market intelligence, and reporting

Synthesizing findings in a clear and understandable way for non-experts
The exact focus areas and assignments will be defined based on your background, experience, and interests. The position is located at Fortum’s headquarters in Espoo, Finland.
About you
We are looking for proactive, curious students who are eager to learn and contribute to sustainable and data-driven procurement.
We hope you apply if you:

Are pursuing university studies in Industrial Engineering & Management, Economics, Sustainability/Environmental Management, Supply Chain/Procurement, Data/Analytics, or similar

Have strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel; familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus

Are interested in sustainable supply chains and responsible sourcing

Can synthesize findings clearly for non-experts

Are proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently during holiday periods

Are a collaborative team player

Have working proficiency in English; Finnish is an advantage
