About the role
As a summer trainee in Strength Analysis, you’ll be involved in real, hands-on research and development project related to Loviisa NPP ageing management. You’ll work on probabilistic fracture mechanical analyses of the Loviisa reactor pressure vessel and take responsibility for a prestudy in which the available analysis software tools (U.S. NRC OCA-P, FAVOR, FAVPRO) are compared.
This position is a great opportunity to gain practical experience and develop your skills in nuclear industry ageing management. The position is in the Materials & Strength team of Engineering & Projects (E&P) business area, located in Espoo, Finland.
About you
We expect you to be in the final stages of your higher university studies in the field of mechanical or structural engineering, including studies in applied mechanics. You are capable of working independently and solving problems, but you also thrive in a team environment. Your working style is independent, proactive, and solution-oriented.
We encourage you to apply for the position if you are:
- Pursuing a degree in mechanical or structural engineering, including studies in applied mechanics, and are in the final phase of your studies.
- Having a basic understanding of statistics and probability mathematics.
- Possessing good written presentation and reporting skills in both Finnish and English.
- Having some experience in strength analyses, especially in fracture mechanical analyses.
- Committed to your work, eager to contribute to the team’s success, and curious to learn new skills in technical engineering analyses.
