Summer Trainee, Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Summer Trainee to join us in the Operational Procurement team at Fortum. The role of our procurement is to enable strong and sustainable business performance, to perform legally valid contracts, and to secure the availability of right materials and services considering the needs and requirements of our stakeholders.

You will be responsible for supporting us with various procurement activities, including for example:

• Creating purchase orders and supporting the end users across Fortum with the end-to-end procurement process and tools.
• Conducting supplier questionnaires and supporting our suppliers with Fortum tools.
• Improving the quality of data in our systems.
• Providing support and creating specific reports to our procurement teams.
• Maintaining and improving the instructions and the content on our procurement sites (e.g. Intranet).

This position is a fixed-term summer trainee position until the 31st of August 2025. The starting date is preferably in the beginning of May. The location for this position is at Fortum Headquarters in Espoo.

• You are a master’s or bachelor’s degree student in a relevant field (e.g., economy, procurement, supply chain management).
• You are self-driven and have a customer-centric approach.
• You are confident and used to working with different IT systems and MS Office tools (especially Excel).
• In this position you will need good communication and analytical skills. But most of all, we appreciate an active and initiative attitude.
• We prefer excellent language skills in Finnish and English. Swedish is considered a merit.
