About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and active Sustainability Trainee to join our Corporate Sustainability team. This position is a great way to gain practical experience in the sustainability area in a big company and in the energy industry. Main tasks include;

  • Coordinate Fortum´s primary data collection from suppliers, including making a plan for how to collect and improve data quality, define appropriate tool to use in the future and possibly run a small pilot with selected suppliers
  • Support in creating an LCA guidance to our business units and develop some sort of data base, e.g., in excel for hands on support to the business
  • Study the demand for low-carbon products (e.g. concrete and steel) including e.g., current and future demand, price expectations, quality and benchmarks
  • You will also research and analyze best practices, prepare presentations, background documents and recommendations for decision-making, as well also support other sustainability team tasks on a demand basis

 

About you

We’re looking for committed students or recent graduates eager to learn more and contribute to our purpose: to power a world where people, businesses and nature thrive together. To succeed in the position, we hope you have;

  • Minimum three years of studies in sustainability, supply chain management, social sciences, business administration or similar
  • Understanding or interest in broader concepts of sustainability, supply chain sustainability, emission data or climate area in general
  • Structured approach to work with data and ability to create ppt presentations
  • Development-oriented and hands-on attitude, eagerness to learn new things - you are also able to work quite independently and to take initiative and responsibility
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Fluent writing and speaking in English
