About the role

You will be part of a team that is responsible for the development portfolio governance of Fortum’s Corporate Customers and Markets business unit. Your team members are located in Espoo and in Stockholm, coordinating development activities, managing projects and also doing a lot of hands-on development in order to develop our trading and dispatching systems and processes further to meet the market changes, secure value creation, meet our customers’ needs and contribute to growth.

 

As a summer trainee, you will be working with an assignment related to the development of steering for intra-day horizon hydro power optimization. The goal is to develop methods where optimization models with longer time horizon give steering to models with shorter time horizon.

About you

We’re looking for committed students or recent graduates eager to learn more and contribute to our purpose: to power a world where people, businesses and nature thrive together.

 

We hope that you apply for the position if you have:

  • Basic knowledge of Python.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical optimization models.
  • You are a master’s student or in the end of your bachelor’s studies in a relevant field.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Curiosity, analytical thinking, likes challenges and wants to learn.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Prior knowledge on hydro power and electricity markets is considered an advantage.
