About the role
We are looking for a Solution Architect to join our Business IT function Hydro team which provides end to end support towards our hydro business with dedicated solutions and services. You will be working in a small team collaborating with the larger international IT community and different vendors. Your main focus area as a Solution Architect will be designing, developing and documenting our solutions in the Hydro IT portfolio. The work is focused towards Information technology (IT) and Operational technology (OT) interfaces as well as related site IT infrastructure in combination with data flows to business solutions to support use cases e.g. AI/ML service. At Fortum we have a hybrid working model requiring some office presence. This role is located in Sweden and our main office is in Solna. Some travelling will be required, both domestically and internationally (mainly to Finland).

What we are looking for
The role includes a wide variety of tasks, where hands on skills in combination with forward looking solution design are needed in order to succeed in the role. These skills and experiences include:
• Documented experiences, knowledge and relevant work experience minimum of 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with hybrid landscapes i.e. a combination of cloud / on prem infrastructure
• Understanding of infra, data, security and service related impacts of solution design
• High awareness of Cyber security practices and principles
• Experience working with high security and continuity requirements
• Ability to communicate fluently with stakeholders to identify opportunities to solve business challenges
• Passion to improve and optimize WoW, governance, DevOps and service processes
• Experience with Linux and Windows server environments
• Experience with IoT and data communication technologies/standards/protocols (e.g. Kepware, OPC, MQTT)
• Previous exposure to OT system integrations and the related IT Infrastructure
• Fluent in Swedish and English language (written and spoken)

You have very good communication skills with an ability to communicate and understand our business stakeholders. You are customer oriented with interest in understanding needs and expectations in the Fortum organization. You keep attention to details, at the same time being forward thinking with a drive to improve and deliver the best solutions. We believe you have:
• A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team and collaborate broadly
• experience in finding the optimal solution for each business need taking the overall application architecture into account
• experience of managing (agile) technology development together with business and technology teams
• good understanding of technology capabilities and proactively researching for new solutions
• Security and continuity mindset towards the full life cycle of every solution, application and service
• Focus on long term problem solving with a hands on approach when needed
We also consider it beneficial if you
• Have a background as a software, solution, integration, data engineer or DBA
• Have Finnish language skills
• Are familiar with ISO62443 and the Purdue model
• Have an understanding of the basics of system administration,
• Have an understanding network architecture,
• Have experience in working in agile teams and DevOps/DevSecOps
• Previous exposure to OT, IoT, connectivity and communication topics
• Have experience with hybrid solutions i.e. onprem in combination with cloud
• Have previous experience with containerization/virtualization
• Have experience from application maintenance and development, preferably in a cloud platform (Azure/AWS) based environment with multiple integrations and complex setup
