We are now searching for an experienced and motivated Lead Quantitative Analyst to take on a crucial role in supporting and advancing our team's key responsibility areas in the fast-evolving energy market. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact.

 

Our Portfolio Management & Pricing team is responsible for managing and de-risking Fortum’s hedging portfolio and pricing Corporate Customers and Markets’ (CCM) offerings for both external and internal customers.
 

About the role
As a Lead Quantitative Analyst, you are a key contributor in the continuous development and analysis of our team’s main responsibility areas: portfolio management, hedging and pricing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strategies and models to optimize the usage of risk capital allocated for hedging activities

  • Quantifying risks and developing models for pricing risks related to customer product offerings (e.g. PPA’s)

  • Analyzing and solving complex challenges related to e.g. large customer cases, leveraging your deep understanding of the energy markets

  • Collaborating closely with the team’s Portfolio Managers and Pricing Managers

  • Leading the work and mentoring other Quantitative Analysts in the team

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders

The position is permanent and located either in Espoo, Finland or in Solna, Sweden.

 

About you

You bring with you a mix of quantitative and analytical expertise, technical skills and market knowledge to our team.

We are looking for an individual with the following:

  • Applicable academic degree, that supports your technical and analytical expertise

  • 5+ years of working experience in e.g. risk management (e.g. market/credit/cash liquidity), finance, portfolio management or quantitative analysis/modelling

  • A strong analytical and mathematical background, supporting you in making well-reasoned assessments and approaching unforeseen challenges proactively

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, ability to work independently on complex quantitative analysis

  • Solid understanding of the energy markets is an asset

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations

  • Fluent in English, both written and oral
