About the role
We are looking for a part-time student worker to join our team (1 – 2 day(s)/week) and work with modelling hydro power river sections.
In more detail, the following will be part of your areas of responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Python-based models to simulate hydropower generation across river systems and cascaded hydro plants.
- Work with large datasets, including hydrological data, plant technical parameters, and operational histories.
- Collaborate with hydropower experts and analysts to refine model assumptions and ensure technical accuracy.
- Document code and workflows to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Contribute to strategic studies and innovation projects related to hydro flexibility, climate adaptation, or hybrid operations.
About you
To succeed in this role, we see that you bring the following background:
- You are currently pursuing a degree in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, renewable energy, or a related field. Preferably first or second year master student.
- You are comfortable in developing and maintaining Python-based optimization models.
- Great understanding of data modelling methodologies and optimization.
- You enjoy problem-solving and are curious about how complex systems like river-based hydropower can be modelled and optimized.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, preferable also Swedish.
- You are a team player who is confident to take responsibility for your own tasks.
