Business People Partner
Oslo, NO
About the role
Are you passionate about people as much as you are about business? Do you thrive in a dynamic, international environment where understanding both the customer and the organization is key to driving impact? Then this role might be for you!
We’re looking for someone who’s eager to dive into the Fortum Consumer Solutions business, while championing the people agenda across their unit. As a Business People Partner, you’ll be a tactical advisor to leaders, helping them navigate day-to-day HR matters and implement practical solutions that support business goals. You’ll work hands-on with people processes, support managers in development discussions, and help solve operational challenges as they arise. In this role, your primary focus will be supporting managers—being their go-to person for all people-related matters.
To succeed in this role, you take initiative and enjoy working independently, while staying flexible and responsive to changing needs. You’re comfortable juggling a broad range of tasks and know how to prioritize with focus and drive. Your knowledge about Norwegian labor law is in the level you can independently run negotiations in Norway.
You’ll contribute in two main areas:
- Business area responsibility – for example, Sales and Customer Service, where you’ll be the go-to person for managers on people-related topics.
- Functional responsibility – In this role this would be most likely related to Compensation & Benefits, so all the experience from this area would be a big plus.
You’ll be part of the Fortum Consumer Solutions and Innovation & Venturing People team, which consists of 13 HR professionals. You’ll report to the Senior Manager, People Business Support. The position is based in Oslo, Norway, and we offer a flexible hybrid working model.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Executing and supporting core People processes such as recruitment, compensation and benefits, PDP and Talent Management, and labor law.
- Advising and coaching managers in your area on everyday HR topics to help them reach their business targets.
- Collaborating with union representatives, including leading negotiations independently in Norway.
- Acting as a sparring partner in organizational and competence development.
- Leading and supporting organizational changes, including restructuring and change communication.
- Supporting Talent Acquisition in ensuring team-fit recruitments.
About you
- 3–5 years of experience in broad HR work, preferably in a Business People Partner or HR Partner role.
- A university degree in a relevant field.
- Solid understanding of HR tools and processes.
- Knowledge of Norwegian labor law and collective agreements, including basic payroll understanding.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills, including facilitation abilities.
- Experience and interest for Compensation&Reward area is highly valuated.
- Experience in leading or supporting organizational change processes, including running negotiations is a must.
- Experience from the energy sector is a plus but not mandatory.
