Want to be amongst forerunners in hydrogen technology? Our Kalla test centre in Loviisa operates pilot electrolysers to provide Fortum P2X with information needed for future larger size electrolyser projects.
About the role
As a Shift Supervisor at our Kalla plant, you will organize the work at site and be the one responsible for a safe and efficient operation of the electrolyzer plant. The Shift Supervisor will be the manager of the operating crew at site, but will also participate in the work at site.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operator team.
- Plan and coordinate operator tasks based on production/testing schedules.
- Collaborate with remote dispatch and contractors on-site.
- Ensure operational safety, including LOTO system compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
- Oversee fault reporting.
- Supervise suppliers and maintenance contractors.
- Manage work permit processes.
- Create and maintain plant documentation (e.g. operating manuals).
- Participate in detailed test planning and develop best practices for efficient, compliant operations.
- Perform all electrolyser operator tasks when on operator duty.
This role is located in Loviisa.
About you
To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you have:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial plant operations, preferably in the chemical/process industry or power generation.
- Proven experience in managerial responsibilities and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance.
- Hands-on experience with safe systems of work, including Permit to Work and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Familiarity with process control systems (DCS) and IT tools.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends. The role also requires flexibility to travel as needed.
- Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
