Electrolyzer Plant Operator

Fortum's P2X team is seeking an Electrolyzer Plant Operator to join our growing team. This role involves participating in essential operational processes, working on standard operating procedures, and collaborating with the team to contribute to the development of green hydrogen. We are looking for someone with an engineering or technical background with experience in industrial plant operations. The role is based in Finland, Loviisa but may involve occasional travel. 

 

About the Role  

In this vital role, you'll play a key part in driving the production of green hydrogen through the operation, optimization and continuous improvement. This position requires a commitment to safety and the ability to monitor and troubleshoot complex systems.  

 

In more detail, key responsibilities of the role are the following:  

  • Overseeing daily operations of the electrolyzer plant, including control room monitoring and on-site activities. 

  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues with implementing corrective actions to ensure safe and efficient production. 

  • Develop and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) with the team 

  • Performing routine maintenance and inspections 

  • Adhering to safety and environmental regulations 

  • Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to optimize plant performance 

 

About you  

In the position as Electrolyzer Plant Operator we see that it is beneficial if you have the following background:  

  • An engineering or technical degree, or equivalent qualifications  

  • Several years of experience in industrial plant operations, preferably within the chemical/process industry or power generation 

  • Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining process machinery and equipment 

  • Strong understanding of process and mechanical systems 

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility 

  • Good communication skills in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
