Direct Tax Lead, Tax Technology

About the role 

In the role as Direct Tax Lead (Tax Technology), you will be part of the Tax Development Team. Tax Development is part of our Financial and Operational Procurement Services (FPS) team, with members in Finland and Poland. We are a dedicated group of tax professionals committed to improving our tax processes and systems. We work closely with various Finance and Business departments to ensure that our tax solutions are not only efficient and accurate but also compliant with the latest regulations.
 

In the role as Direct Tax Lead (Tax Technology), the following will be part of your areas of responsibilities: 

• Driving a seamless end-to-end process design and implementation in direct tax accounting processes

• Implementing best practices and ensuring that direct tax accounting processes are streamlined, efficient, and meet business requirements

• Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and company policies, addressing any areas of risk or non-compliance

• Working together with our business and finance stakeholders to ensure the processes are adopted, and they are efficient and aligned with the required standards

• Ensuring data quality, operational transparency, and continuous improvement in our processes

• Managing communication and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders such as IT and Finance teams

• Supporting Fortum finance with process explanation / training where needed

About you

We believe that you have the following background: 

• Suitable degree or equivalent competencies in e.g., tax, accounting or technology

• Several years of working experience in a relevant fields (e.g., tax advisory, direct tax management, process development or Tax Technology) 

• Proven track record with CIT accounting processes, preferably in a large-scale, global organization

• Deep understanding of CIT policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and consistency

• Proven track record in driving change/implementing complex change

• Proven experience in designing and implementing ERP solution, specifically direct tax solutions

• Fluent written and spoken English

• Good technical capabilities working with ERP's and other financial management related systems

• Experience in ERP implementation and transformation are considered as advantage
