About the role
Fortum Consumer Solutions Procurement team is looking for Category Manager who would the key procurement contact locally in Gdansk towards business operations in Poland. Fortum’s Consumer Solutions business unit offers electricity solutions to households and businesses in Poland, in the Nordics and Spain.
This new role will serve as the procurement business partner for the Consumer Solutions business in Poland, ensuring alignment with local requirements and strategic objectives. And, depending of your experience and interest areas you could also have Fortum wide (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland and Spain) category responsibilities.
The procurement team supports the business mainly in customer service, sales and invoicing services categories. Experience of the related IT services and digitalization is a advantage.
You will report to senior manager in Consumer Solution (in Finland).
The role includes travelling.
Your responsibilities will include e.g.:
- Plan and implement procurement actions in collaboration with Consumer Solutions business and work as the main procurement contact locally
- Ensure efficient procurement support to strategic initiatives in business
- Define and implement category strategies in agreed areas and supplier relationship management (SRM) in Consumer Solutions
- Lead contract negotiations and supplier collaboration
- Ensure tendering, contracting and procurement process are managed in compliance with internal controls & requirements and external regulations
- Work as an internal consultant for saving opportunities, finding new suppliers, screening new technologies and digital services
- Ensure the efficient procurement process and usage of purchasing tools in Consumer Solutions with the support from operational & tactical procurement team
About you
- Academic degree in a relevant field.
- 5–10 years of experience in Procurement or a related function.
- Proven track record in managing challenging negotiations, supporting strategic business and procurement goals, and managing supplier relationships.
- Proactive, hands-on, and agile approach to meeting business needs.
- Strong work management, negotiation and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Polish.
- Comfortable working with an international team. You will be the primary Consumer Solutions procurement contact in Poland, supported by an international team in Finland and Sweden. In addition, you will collaborate closely with other procurement colleagues and finance teams in Gdańsk.
- Commercial and analytical mindset; experience with digital services is a plus.
- Previous experience working in a Nordic company is considered an advantage.
