Thesis Worker, Environmental Reporting

Perm/Temp:  Temporary

Espoo, FI

About the role

We are now offering a thesis opportunity to create SBTi approved scope 3 emissions calculation model as a business tool for Fortum Heating and Cooling. The thesis should also take into account future changes or developments in emissions calculations. The design and implementation of the tool can be implemented into an ongoing project or one that is being planned. Regarding the development of the tool, you communicate with, for example, project teams and procurement. In addition, the Scope 3 emissions calculation tool is also intended to support and refine the Group-level Scope 3 emissions calculation. Partial cooperation with the Group's sustainability team is required.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and sustainable development are increasingly important goals for Fortum. With the entry into force of the CSRD, the calculation of scope 3 emissions has become a mandatory part of emissions reporting in addition to scope 1 and scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions are the third emission category of the GHG protocol.

As Fortum Heating and Cooling's business operations grow rapidly, we want to develop a scope 3 calculation model that will be used to assess the emission impacts of future projects already during the planning phase of new projects. In addition to the modeling, a report on possible changes in the calculation of scope 3 emissions in the coming years is expected.

This position is open at our Espoo, Keilaniemi office and the duration is around 6 months.
