You will be doing all this while helping Fortum drive the decarbonisation in industries and help societies to reach carbon neutrality. Join us as a Tech Lead and take the lead in developing and evolving our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric platform for the entire organisation.
About the role
Our team consists of experts on BI and Analytics, now we are looking for a Tech Lead to join the team and take responsibility of Power BI and Fabric platform. Here you are expected to have strong knowledge regarding tenant settings on Fabric, managing on-premises gateways and optimizing data pipelines. You will also have the latest information to new features on Power BI and Fabric, and you are expected to share this knowledge with the team. We work in an agile way, but we assume you have the skills to change to ad-hoc tasks when needed.
The role integrates technical excellence with competence development, and requires an ability to position reporting within the broader context of the organisation’s data pipeline. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data assets are reusable, scalable, and governed, while deploying optimized approaches in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric aligned to reporting requirements. You will provide guidance on the most challenging Power BI reporting topics and support colleagues across varying seniority levels. As the organization evaluates and adopts additional Fabric capabilities, you will contribute directly to defining and implementing best practices.
The role will also include but not be limited to:
- Contributes to product vision and optimal value creation for business
- High-level design, architecture and follow up of technical implementations
- Lead the development and technical and architecture discussions in own field
- Ensure that the solutions follow the Fortum policies and guidelines regarding architecture, development practices, privacy, security, etc
- Shares knowledge to increase team performance
- Responsibility of the team’s technical delivery in own field
- Make sure everyone has a common understanding of business requirements
- Hands-on participate in the report development and coding
- Work closely with colleagues based in the Nordics and in Poland, some travel might occur
About you
- A higher degree in IT, Finance or business administration or relevant working experience that we find suitable.
- Senior level knowledge and development skills in the following technologies: Power BI, Fabric.
- Good experience on ETL processes and different data sources, CI/CD processes.
- Good experience with implementing agile development processes and continuous delivery.
- Project management experience and ability to plan tech strategy implementation and drive the tech initiatives.
- Experience with building and scaling architectures
- Experience in participating in the entire value chain from development to delivery
- You are genuinely driven by creating a good customer experience
- Good communication skills with the business and ability to advice less experienced team members
- We are an international organisation, fluency in English in mandatory. Fluency in either Swedish or Finish is considered a plus.
