Interested in driving decarbonisation by supporting IT systems? We are looking for a System Manager to join our Heating and Cooling IT team. If you enjoy solving problems, improving systems, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and keeping complex environments running reliably, this is the role for you!

 

About the role

Your main responsibility will be to ensure that the IT systems for district heating production are operational and developed to meet the future business needs. The aim is to strengthen the team with a System Manager and to increase our internal competence on maintaining our systems and developing those further.

 

You will be working in close collaboration with Service Managers, Solution architect, System Manager and other team members. In your day-to-day work you will manage applications from incident management, development needs, vulnerability management to stakeholder communication.

 

Overall responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Accountability of technical landscape of application/service
  • Independently plan and manage life-cycle of the application/system/service
  • Plan and ensure execution of changes
  • Plan and ensure quality of operations and service delivery, System meets agreed service levels and budget
  • System is managed according to corporate ITSM policies and instructions (processes, documentation) and/or system is managed according to corporate DevSecOps practices
  • System is compliant with corporate policies and regulation (Cyber Security, Privacy, NIS2 etc)

 

This role is hands-on, varied, and central to the reliable functioning of several important Heating & Cooling systems. You will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and business processes.

 

About you

To succeed in this role, we think you have:

  • Relevant educational background in IT or engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in system management, application maintenance, integrations, or production IT environments
  • Understanding of system lifecycles, patching, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors, IT partners, and business stakeholders
  • A structured, proactive working style and genuine interest in improving systems
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and dive deep into domain-specific applications
  • Good communication skills in Finnish and English - both spoken and written

 

Considered as your benefit:

  • Prior experience from Trimble NIS, Pinja Energy Operations and Aspentech IP.21
  • Understanding of Azure and AWS technologies
  • Knowledge on ITIL and ServiceNow

 

The job is located in Espoo, Finland. Fortum works in a hybrid setting where you are expected to be present at the office two to three times a week.
