About the role
As a Summer Trainee, System Engineer IT Hydropower solutions you’ll be involved in real, hands-on work. You’ll get to work on IT solutions supporting Fortum’s hydropower. You’ll play an important role in our HydroIT team. This position is a great way to gain practical experience and grow your skills in IT systems used in energy sector.
About you
We’re looking for committed students or recent graduates eager to learn more and contribute to our purpose: to power a world where people, businesses and nature thrive together.
We hope that you apply for the position if you are:
- Pursuing a degree in Information Technology in the final year of your studies or just graduated. We are also open to other comparable experiences.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, Finnish preferred and Swedish is a plus. Most of our internal materials are in English, our team meetings are in English and many of the people you will be collaborating with are non-Finnish speaking.
- All experience you may have gained already working with IT systems is valuable and helps you to succeed in this role.
- Comfortable in working in different technical environments like cloud infrastructure, operating systems (Windows, Linux) and in other IT systems in an administrator role.
- Committed to the work you do, contribute to the team’s success and curious to learn new skills.

- Software inventory of applications used in Hydro business
- Conduct the access reviews for hydro portfolio applications – and document them
