As our Senior Technical Manager, you will be the key specialist bridging customer needs, grid requirements, and energy storage solutions to speed our growth in more holistic energy services. The role can be adjusted according to your experience and interests.


About the role

  • Develop industrial site, BESS, and flexibility service concepts together with internal teams and external partners from technical point of view.
  • Support customer discussions and translate technical requirements into commercial offerings.
  • Ensure grid compliance of different kinds of hybrid solutions by being an expert especially on the consumption side, supported by other grid experts.
  • Lead TSO/DSO technical discussions and monitor regulatory developments for industrial sites.
  • Assess technical or regulatory risks of different industrial site and energy flexibility business models.
  • Follow technology trends impacting industrial electrification, datacenters, and energy storage.


About you

  • Strong expertise in grid connection process and consumption-side power system requirements as well as good knowledge on electrical grid permitting related topics.
  • Experience in HV and MV network planning, construction project management or consulting. Experience from electric networks in large process industry, datacenters, energy storage or renewable energy power plants is beneficial.
  • Proactive and passionate to work across engineering, business development, sales and customers.
  • Business acumen and interest in supporting new product and business model development with technical expertise in a fast-growing market.

This role will be part of the BESS team in the Renewables unit, while supporting industrial site development, sales teams, and new energy offerings across Fortum. It is a unique opportunity to define how large energy consumers integrate flexibility and renewable power solutions in the Nordic market.
