Fortum is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Architect to design and guide our workplace platforms - ensuring performance, security, and a seamless daily experience for our employees.
About the role
In this role, you will act as the senior technical owner for Fortum’s workplace architecture. You will work hands-on with the core technologies that enable how our employees work - covering devices, identity, collaboration, automation, lifecycle, and endpoint security.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Workplace, IAM, Security, Engineering, and vendor partners to design scalable, secure, and well-integrated end-user computing environments. This role offers the opportunity to influence long-term workplace strategy and shape the next generation of employee experience at Fortum.
Key responsibilities might include but are not limited to the following:
- Own the technical architecture for all workplace technology domains, including devices, collaboration tools, user computing platforms, application delivery models (local, virtualized, streamed, Cloud PC / VDI), meeting room technologies, monitoring ecosystems, and workplace analytics covering adoption, user experience, and compliance.
- Ensure all workplace architecture aligns with Fortum Enterprise Architecture principles.
- Design and maintain standards across these domains: room technologies, AV/VC integrations, supported configurations, accessibility and inclusive design considerations, cost‑ and license‑efficient platform usage (including M365 and device fleets), and technical lifecycle models.
- Maintain and evolves workplace architecture roadmaps, decision records, and documentation in alignment with Fortum architecture practices.
- Guide development and engineering teams on how solutions should be integrated across identity, endpoint management, automation, and collaboration.
- Lead designs involving multi-platform integrations (Intune, Jamf, AD, ServiceNow, M365, and more).
- Ensure tight integration of workplace platforms with ITSM processes, including incident, request, change, and CMDB alignment.
- Lead technical vendor governance for workplace platforms, including roadmap alignment, technical evaluations, and vendor solution assessments.
- Contribute to secure-by-design decisions, including conditional access, MFA, Zero Trust principles, endpoint hardening, and information protection architecture such as data loss prevention (DLP), sensitivity labels, and endpoint data controls.
- Drive modernization initiatives and future workplace automation.
- Provide technical insight and sparring during major investigations and platform-level incidents, using workplace analytics, telemetry, and experience data where applicable
About you
You enjoy solving complex technical problems and designing solutions that scale across a large enterprise. You understand how identity, devices, collaboration tools, and security interconnect, and you communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
We believe you’ll succeed in this role if you have:
- Solid experience in workplace technologies, especially Intune, Jamf, Windows and macOS management.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management (Entra ID, AD, and related services).
- Experience designing integrations across workplace systems and automation platforms.
- A security-first mindset and hands-on experience with endpoint security and Zero Trust principles.
- Strong communication skills - you explain complex topics clearly and build trust across teams.
- A collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented working style.
- Fluency in English, both speaking and writing.

This position can be based in any of our offices in Sweden (Solna), Finland (Espoo), Poland (Wroclaw).
