Senior Portfolio Manager (Physical portfolio)

We are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Physical Portfolio Management team. The position is available in either our Espoo or Solna office. 

 

About the role 

You will be part of a team who sets the framework for Fortum’s growth and secures the value creation of Fortum’s physical Nordic production and consumption portfolio in a changing market environment.

 

In your role you will:

  • Manage and oversee the operative physical trading strategy for Fortum’s physical portfolios
  • Contribute to maximizing value creation from Fortum’s Nordic production and consumption portfolio using all available physical market channels 
  • Develop, improve and price our physical trading product portfolio for both internal and external customers 
  • Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory policies in the Nordic Power markets 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with trading desks, market analysts, sales and other stakeholders 
  • Participate in the development of trading mandates, risk follow-up and performance tracking tools 
  • Provide operational insights and contribute to strategic planning and roadmap execution 
  • Support the implementation of Fortum’s strategy centered on customer-driven growth and flexibility


The division you will be working in, Corporate Customers and Markets (CCM), has an in-depth understanding of the energy markets
. Our objective is to serve our customers and optimize Fortum’s power production assets. We hedge, trade and optimize Fortum’s assets with an excellent understanding of customer needs, the power system and energy markets.

About you

  • Master's degree in a relevant field together with a passion for electricity trading 
  • Proven experience and track record in managing complex portfolios
  • Strong analytical thinking and a proactive mindset  
  • Experience from the Nordic power markets and physical trading operations 
  • Experience working with industrial customers is an advantage
  • Familiarity with risk and regulatory frameworks 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite
  • Fluency in Finnish and Swedish is considered a major asset, as it can significantly support success in this role
