About The Role
Financial and Operational Procurement Services (FPS) is part of Fortum overall Finance delivery, it has today main locations in Finland, Sweden and Poland. FPS is delivering services and support to all Fortum businesses and enabling functions, globally. FPS is a key part of Finance, focused on building a modern, efficient, and unified team. The goal is to support and add value to Fortum’s business through agile and aligned finance operations.
Currently we are looking for a Senior Manager, Treasury Support and Control to join Fortum’s FPS.
In this critical role, you will ensure the accurate and timely execution of end-to-end processes for treasury transactions. You have deep expertise in treasury accounting, from bookkeeping entries to financial notes. You thrive in an international matrix organization and enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders. You will be working closely with Treasury and Group Accounting in Finland and a team of cash management professionals in Gdańsk, Poland.
Fortum is currently running several projects to modernize Treasury Management System and ERP, so your ability to drive process improvements, implement new ways of working, and lead change will be essential. You will report directly to the Director, Order to Cash, with a dotted line to the Director, Treasury Front Office. As a member of both teams, you will play a key role in Fortum’s finance transformation—contributing to annual deliverables and driving development initiatives going forward.
Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage end-to-end back-office processes for treasury transactions, enabling timely and error-free execution
- Ensure robust controls and documentation for confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Master treasury accounting and IFRS knowledge in treasury topics.
- Collaborate closely with front-office, accounting, and risk teams to maintain seamless treasury operations and accurate financial reporting.
- Act as a subject matter expert for treasury systems and back-office workflows, supporting audits and compliance reviews
- Lead change and capability development in your responsibility area
This position is an excellent opportunity to shape the operational backbone of Fortum’s treasury activities, ensuring reliability, transparency, and excellence in financial execution.
The location for this position will be in Espoo, where we work in a hybrid work model, some travel to other Fortum locations will be needed from time to time.
About you
You have a suitable Master's degree or equivalent competences and at least 5 years of working experience in relevant field.
You excel in treasury accounting and reporting, including IFRS standards and treasury instruments, with ability to apply this expertise to ensure accurate end-to-end process from Treasury management to consolidation system. Knowledge of SAP and Integrity is an asset.
You are self-driven with strong influencing and communication skills. You proactively network with stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization. You take ownership and get things done, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Your proficiency in both spoken and written English is excellent.
