About the role

The responsibility of Nuclear Oversight and Advisory Group (NOAG) is to provide with an independent view of safety status of Fortum's nuclear operations and foreseen challenges. The scope of NOAG's work covers Fortum's nuclear operations in Finland and Sweden and is divided into two main areas:

• Evaluation of Fortum's nuclear fleets' safety performance based on indicators, line and site independent oversite reporting, own observations and external evaluations.

• Understanding of international best practices to ensure the usage as a reference in the line organisation performance improvement.
 

We are now looking for a Senior Manager, with expertise in human and organizational factor to join the team!

In this role you will provide feedback and coach Fortum organisation to reach excellence in performance. Your contribution to the team will complement collective knowledge with deep understanding of human and organisational factor as well as support leadership development in Fortum’s nuclear fleet. Work consists of collaboration and co-operation as well as individual work.

 

Your main focus areas are:

  • Develop a realistic, independent view on safety performance and safety culture status across Fortum’s nuclear fleet and support corporate governance in decision making
  • Support nuclear management and business in nuclear safety leadership related topics
  • Identify improvement opportunities and best practices by participating in international cooperation and benchmarking
  • Understand the nuclear business environment to provide relevant information for top leaders at Fortum and Co-owned nuclear companies
  • Support the business in continuous improvement and strive for pragmatic solutions, reducing bureaucracy
  • Develop understanding of human and organizational factor as well as leadership in nuclear environment

More detailed focus areas and assignments are determined based on the applicant’s experience.

Job assignments occasionally require visits to the Fortum headquarter in Espoo, Loviisa NPP and other Nuclear facilities in the Nordics as well as some travel to international nuclear stations and events.

 

About you

To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have:

  • Minimum a master’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to cooperate closely with the line organisation and other oversight functions
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with internal and external teams
  • Capability to build commitment and trust across, and for, the nuclear fleet
  • Communications skills and the ability to be clear and concise
  • Understanding of organisational dynamics and having experience in human and organisational behaviour
  • Knowledge of the implementation of effective policies and positive collaborative practices, fostering a productive, healthy, and safe work environment.
  • Fluency in English and good knowledge of Finnish or Swedish
  • Proactive behavior and willingness to learn

In this role you will be able to support a wide range of nuclear operations from fuel procurement to decommissioning as well as long-term storage of nuclear waste. You will be part of an independent team assessing performance and supporting the Fortum’s nuclear fleet with behavioural and leadership aspects. Within Fortum you have the possibility to cooperate with other technologies and extend your influence internationally. You will have opportunity to grow orgnisational understanding of human behaviour and develop further your knowledge in nuclear industry and organisational factors.
