Senior Manager, Finance and Business Control

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Finance and Business Control to join our Finance team in Espoo to support our Enabling Functions.

About the role
Fortum's Enabling Functions are centralized support units—such as Finance, IT, Legal, People and Sustainability & Corporate Relations (SCR)—that provide strategic and operational services to the business. We have currently ~1100 persons ensuring efficient service delivery, governance, and transformation across the company.


In this position, you will lead Business Control processes in People, SCR and selected IT sub-units ensuring achievement of performance targets and enhancing business performance by acting as a trusted finance business partner to the respective Leadership Teams.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance function for People, SCR and selected IT sub-units and being an active member of their Leadership Teams
  • Act as a strategic Finance business partner, providing financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support business objectives
  • Drive long-term forecasting, performance management and forecasting processes in close collaboration with stakeholders and the wider Finance organization
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Contribute to Fortum’s Finance digitalization project, by creating future-ready, modern, efficient and agile processes and tools

 
About you
You combine strong financial expertise with the ability to influence, communicate, and build trust with senior stakeholders. You thrive in dynamic environments and are able to translate financial insights into clear narratives and actions that drive decisions and performance. You work with a sense of pace and purpose, ensuring progress even in changing circumstances. You are self-driven yet a strong team player, comfortable operating in an international environment.


You also have:

  • 5–10 years of experience in business control within an international, demanding finance environment—preferably in a listed company
  • Experience from management consulting or similar roles is considered an asset
  • A proactive and goal-oriented way of working, with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Interest and experience in modern finance technologies (e.g., SAP, HFM, Microsoft 365) and process improvement
  • A Master’s degree in Finance or a related field
  • Confident and fluent English skills
  • Finnish and/or Swedish skills are not required, but considered an advantage for collaborating effectively with local stakeholders
