Senior Engineer, Process Systems
Espoo, FI
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Design Engineer to join our Technical Design department in the Engineering and Projects unit, located in Keilalahti, Espoo.
About the Role
This is a permanent position in process engineering. Our team provides essential support to our fully owned Loviisa nuclear power plant, as well as to domestic and international customers of Nuclear Services and co-owned company governance.
As a design engineer in the process design team, you will gain a comprehensive perspective on the nuclear power industry and have the opportunity to develop your expertise in the field. You will be an expert in process engineering, working on various projects and assignments alongside colleagues and experts from other technology fields. You will have the support of experienced experts from the Engineering and Projects unit and the Loviisa power plant.
Your role involves process design and commissioning tasks in the nuclear field, with opportunities to participate in other industrial projects. Your tasks will include modifications and renewals of process systems, such as primary and secondary systems, radioactive waste handling systems, and auxiliary systems. You may also be part of larger delivery projects, working as a member of a multidisciplinary project team providing process engineering expertise. Your tasks and responsibilities will be scaled based on your competencies and work experience.
This role is based in Espoo, Finland.
Your Focus Areas:
- Support the planning and execution of process engineering for Loviisa NPP, domestic and international customers of Nuclear Services, as well as P2X/hydrogen projects, covering the entire power plant, engineering, and project lifecycles.
- Create, analyze, and review process system-level design concepts, ensuring their acceptability and justifying them to the authority (mainly STUK).
- Participate in engineering process development and standardization, building a comprehensive understanding of the role of process systems in nuclear safety.
- Mentor and guide less experienced experts and engineers in the team.
About You
To be successful in this role, we believe you bring the following:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field, specifically in energy or process technology.
- Experience in the design of process systems for nuclear or conventional power plants, or applicable experience from the process industry.
- Fluent Finnish and English language skills, with the ability to express yourself well both in speaking and writing.
- A collaborative mindset, believing in the power of teamwork and willing to mentor and guide other team members.
- Analytical thinking, enjoying the creation of design concepts and attention to detail.
- The ability and willingness to participate in multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, and an appreciation for the freedom to manage your own time and effort.
- Proficiency with common office software and experience with modern simulation and engineering programs. Experience with CAD software (e.g., Microstation or AutoCAD) is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, mostly domestically.
