Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be part of the Operational Procurement Team based in Gdańsk, Poland, reporting to the Team Leader, Operational Procurement.
The team is responsible for supporting Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) operations and driving efficiency across Fortum by ensuring that goods and services are acquired efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with procurement policies.
You will play a key role in providing high-quality and timely support to procurement and business teams, managing operational procurement activities, and ensuring adherence to processes and standards.
About the role

Support employees in following and developing procurement processes, tools, and templates.

Ensure purchase order quality through validation and regular checks.

Manage day-to-day operational procurement tasks according to company procedures.

Organize user trainings, prepare and update instructions, and support employees in the use of procurement tools.

Identify process gaps and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Collect and analyze data related to suppliers, transactions, and business areas to identify opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure smooth information flow and compliance with procurement standards.
About you
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Economics, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a procurement, supply chain, or operational environment.

Skills and Competencies:
-
Service-oriented and adaptable approach, delivering proactive and solution-driven support.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-
Good knowledge of ERP systems (we use SAP, Basware P2P, Maximo) and advanced MS Office skills.

Excellent communication skills — ability to create clear instructions, reports, and training materials.

Ability to work independently and in teams with a structured and proactive mindset.

Languages: Proficiency in Polish and very good command of English (spoken and written). Knowledge of Finnish or Swedish will be an asset.

Bonus: Experience in organizing and conducting user trainings.
