About the role
We’re looking for a Manager, Purchasing Operations to lead a team responsible for purchase transactions and related processes, spend channels and P2P system support with effective utilization across the businesses. You ensure daily operational purchasing activities, compliance and strong service delivery towards internal users and suppliers. You will play a key role in driving process efficiency, system adoption and compliance across purchasing channels and businesses.
The role requires a strong focus on performance management, data-driven decision making and change leadership, enabling sustainable improvements in efficiency, compliance and value delivery. You will also champion system adoption, support transformation initiatives and contribute to the development of a scalable and future-ready purchasing operations team.
Key responsibilities
- Leading and guiding the Purchasing Operations team, ensuring high-quality and compliant execution of purchase transactions and end-user support
- Driving operational excellence in exception handling and vendor query
- Ensuring efficient validation of purchase requests and management of purchase orders and related changes
- Overseeing contract translation and implementation into P2P systems, ensuring accuracy and system integrity
- Managing purchasing channels and ensuring smooth execution of operational procurement activities
- Owning and continuously developing operational processes, ways of working and stakeholder management
- Developing the operations to enable process automation and efficiency
- Ensuring the right capabilities and performance management are in place
- Defining and driving targets aligned with business and stakeholders
- Building and developing a high-performing team by fostering accountability, engagement, continuous learning and a results-driven culture
- Leading organizational change and capability development to support evolving business and procurement needs
- Building strong partnerships with Procurement, Finance, IT and business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and value creation
- Present the service delivery vision, status, opportunities and challenges
You’ll report directly to Senior Manager, Procurement Enablement & Operations. We’re looking for a new team member to join us in Espoo or Gdansk, but we work flexibly in a hybrid model that adapts to both your professional and personal needs.
About you
To succeed in this role you have:
- At least 5 years of work experience in procurement field
- At least 2 years of experience in a manager position
- An academic degree in a relevant field
- Strong understanding of purchase-to-pay processes
- Strong stakeholder management and service-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English
- Previous experience of using Basware P2P, IBM Maximo and/or SAP Ariba is seen as an asset
- Shared Services experience is seen as an asset
- Proficiency in quantitative and data analysis
- Ability to lead change, engage and motivate teams
