Fortum is seeking a Lead Analyst, Market Design and Development to join our Strategic Market Intelligence team. This is a key role for enhancing our understanding and influence in energy regulation and market design.

About the role
As a Lead Analyst, you will drive the monitoring, analysis, and insight formation in energy regulation and market design. You will shape Fortum’s long-term perspective, facilitating and bringing together views from senior stakeholders, including top management. Your expertise will establish you as a thought leader and key senior expert, both internally and externally.
Your responsibilities will include:

Lead analysis and insight formation on energy regulation and market design.

Build and maintain expertise in energy regulation, monitor development through internal (e.g. Fortum Public Affairs, CCM, Senior mgt) and key external sources.

Produce and communicate high-quality insights suitable for top-management and other key stakeholders, and regularly present to different audiences.

Contribute to commercial and strategic decision-making, such as corporate customer discussions, business development, capital allocation, and business strategies.

Drive and form Fortum’s view and position on key energy regulation, policy, and market design issues.

Lead and review views represented in consultation responses to various questionnaires and lobbying messages.

Position and defend Fortum’s interest in public energy policy debates and proactively seek opportunities to influence.

Lead analysis work through proactive identification of analysis and thought leadership priorities, both on strategic and tactical levels.

Plan, manage, and report on projects with complexity in terms of objectives, deliverables, scope, key contributors/dependencies, materials, time, and resources.
In this position, you act as a Fortum spokesperson, speaking with Fortum's voice, being a trusted and wanted external speaker. You will leverage the broader Market Intelligence analysis engine for support on key topics and actively participate in selected external forums with key policymakers.
The position is open in Solna, Sweden or Espoo, Finland.
About you
You demonstrate a service mindset, proactive and team-oriented way of working and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
To succeed in this position, you will have :

At least a Master’s degree in economics, engineering, finance, or equivalent.

At least 10 years of experience in the field.

Deep expertise in Nordic power market regulation and future development.

Acumen for strategic, holistic, and commercial business mindset.

Ability to develop high-class, “board-level” presentation material.

Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Finnish and/or Swedish.
