About the role
We are looking for an Expert, I&C Project Design. In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to bring your I&C expertise into projects especially related to domestic and international clients of Nuclear Services, where we already have several supporting projects on-going for our clients and expect more to come.
Your main focus areas are:
- Support the planning and execution of I&C projects related to domestic and international clients of Nuclear Services projects, with the special attention to NPP I&C Modernization projects.
- Support the projects in the beginning of projects by investigating client needs, creating suitable service and deliverable packages
- Execute the project assignments e.g. by analyzing and reviewing the I&C related design concepts, ensure acceptability of the chosen design concepts and justify them to the authority
- Participate on project meetings in Finland or abroad with the clients and contribute in meetings as an I&C Expert
More detailed focus areas and assignments are determined based on the applicant’s experience and interests.
Your position is in the I&C Project Design team of Engineering & Projects (E&P) business area, located in Espoo, Finland. The team consists of I&C experts which are utilized in projects supporting safe and efficient operations of the Loviisa nuclear power plant, our Co-owned nuclear units, external nuclear clients, the development of new nuclear and nuclear R&D activities in Fortum.
About you
- You are an engineering professional with a positive and proactive attitude, solution and development-oriented mindset and eager to solve our client’s challenges and genuine interest to learn and grow as part of an expert team and various kinds of projects.
- You have a proven track record as an expert in nuclear field. Other power plant engineering or other industrial or safety critical operating environment is considered as an asset.
- You are an analytical thinker, enjoy building design concepts and able to focus also on the details
- You are a real team player that believes in the power of collaboration and are willing to steer and guide other team members
- You have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of ownership and responsibility appreciating the freedom to be in control of your own time and effort
- Knowledge about nuclear power plant safety and regulatory requirements is considered as a big plus
- You are required to have an upper level degree (academic or polytechnic) in automation engineering or relevant field
- You are required to have excellent English language skills and the ability to express yourself well both in speaking and writing
- You are willing to have occasional travel days within Finland and Europe
