Director, Legal Technology

We are looking for a Director, Legal Technology to help us shape the future of legal technology and digital transformation at Fortum in Espoo or Solna.

About the Role
As Director, Legal Technology, you will lead and implement  the Legal Tech strategy and drive the use of technology within the Legal function to enhance efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring legal processes align with digital transformation goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Create and implement the Legal Tech strategy in alignment with Group digital initiatives
• Lead, manage and implement legal technology projects and tools, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value creation
• Coach and support the Legal  team  in the Legal Technology area
• Support Group IT and Safety & Security in legal matters
• Drive digital transformation within the Legal function, including automation and process improvements
• Oversee legal technology budget and vendor management
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver innovative legal solutions
• Assist EVP Legal and support the Legal Leadership Team as needed

About You

You bring a strong combination of legal and technology expertise, with the ability to lead transformation initiatives and manage complexity in an international environment. You are comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational execution and thrive in a collaborative, business-focused setting.

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive (10+ years) experience in technology and IT within legal contexts
• Strong ability to implement strategies and drive transformation
• Proven ability to coach teams and manage stakeholders effectively
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and delegate when needed
• Strategic mindset with ability to plan long-term and drive digital transformation
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with senior management and cross-functional teams
• Can do-attitude
