Development Manager, Procurement

We are looking for a Development Manager to Procurement to strengthen Fortum's Corporate Procurement Intelligence and Sustainability team. As a Development Manager, you’ll develop and execute procurement-related strategic development projects across all Fortum business areas.

The role also requires some travelling to project business sites.

 

About the role 

In the role of Development Manager within Procurement, your areas of responsibilities include tasks such as:

  • Create and develop market intelligence within the procurement community
  • Develop and implement supplier onboarding processes across the organization
  • Design and manage processes for gathering and evaluating information about potential suppliers
  • Ensure compliance and lead strategic risk assessments to inform supplier integration processes and long-term sourcing decisions
  • Strategically manage supplier-related processes to build a reliable and efficient supply chain
  • Oversee contract management activities
  • Promote and apply data-driven decision making
  • Facilitate and organize workshops to support procurement development
  • Contribute to other general development topics as needed

 

You will work in Corporate Procurement, and report to Director, Procurement Intelligence and Sustainability. 

 

About you 

To succeed in this role, you have: 
  • A degree in a relevant field such as economics, IT, or engineering
  • Several years of experience in procurement development, including international procurement in a global environment
  • Strong experience in contract management, negotiation, and project leadership for complex initiatives
  • In-depth understanding of supplier onboarding processes and experience implementing supplier ownership within an organization
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision making and familiarity with corporate-level ERP solutions
  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning, with curiosity toward innovative solutions
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, and proficiency in Finnish or Swedish
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and lead change effectively
