Development Manager, Accounts Payable

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Development Manager to join our Source-to-Pay (S2P) Development team. In this role, you will focus on managing and developing the Accounts Payable (AP) process area within Fortum. You will act as an expert in the AP domain, ensuring process functionality, efficiency, and compliance as part of the end-to-end S2P process.
You will lead the development as a process owner, focusing on technology, process, and ways of working. Additionally, you will support operational teams in their daily work.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the accounts payable process area as a process owner.
- Ensure the efficiency and quality of the AP process area.
- Participate in the finance ERP renewal project as a subject matter expert for the AP area, leading the definition and implementation as part of the project team.
- Drive process automation.
- Defining and implementing system functionality improvements and process related changes together with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working closely with technology providers to ensure timely, effective and high quality transactions throughout the AP process area.
- Provide training for operational teams and end users.
- Plan and prioritize actions to support operational teams with problem-solving.
- Share best practices in own process area with the capability to challenge existing ways of working
About you
To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have:
- Preferably +5 years of experience in a similar role with a Master's/Bachelor’s degree in economics or technology.
- Expertise in financial and AP technologies (ERP/AP solutions).
- In-depth knowledge of AP processes and invoice processing.
- Familiarity with AP standards and national requirements.
- Proven track record in identifying, planning, and executing development projects.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive actions from data.
- Strong cooperation skills and the ability to drive work within a matrix organization.
- Persuasive with stakeholders and strong influencing skills.
- Experience with ERP and technology implementation projects.
- End-to-end process thinking.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Finnish is considered an advantage.
