Business Controller, Engineering and Projects

About the role
As a Business Controller, your main role is to act as a business partner for the Engineering & Projects business line. This includes performance reporting, developing financial processes, project controlling and performing advanced analysis, as well as providing forecasts and recommendations based on the results. You will also be part of business line management team and actively give support and guidance in financial aspects to stakeholders in your responsibility area, and in co-operation with other support functions. You will also contribute to business unit–level reporting for Nuclear Generation, as well as finance process and tool development, working closely with the Nuclear business controller team.
This position is located in Espoo, Finland and reporting to Director Business Control, Nuclear Generation. The position is temporary until the end of August 2027.
About you
To succeed and thrive in this role, we see that you have:
- An academic degree in Economics.
- A couple years of experience in business controlling and performance reporting, preferably in an international big corporation.
- Good IT and Excel skills combined with knowledge of finance systems and business intelligence tools.
- Fluent skills in English. Finnish language skills will be considered an advantage.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally.
As a person, you are business oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to influence others across Fortum’s global organization. You’re a team player, but also able to reach set targets individually. You are a constructive challenger with a positive can-do attitude, enabling change and taking initiative to improve business as well as finance processes further. Engineering & Projects is responsible for implementing Fortum's nuclear power projects. We are experts working on demanding tasks at Loviisa NPP and co-owned nuclear power plants, employing around 170 top professionals. We support external customers by delivering world-class nuclear power services globally. In addition we have strong focus in nuclear research and development and provide expertise to new nuclear and hydrogen projects.
