About the position
We are strengthening our analysis team with a Business Analyst within Performance Analytics, to develop and enable data driven and customer centric strategic decisions through end-user friendly reports. To do this you will work closely with stakeholders to develop powerful KPI:s and steering components utilizing modern databases and analytics.
As Performance Analyst in Consumer Solutions you will always have your end-users in mind, making data and insights truly useful by combining analytics, communication and visualization skills. You are not afraid to apply novel techniques or methods where it needs and your curiosity drives you constantly forward.
With a high degree of autonomy, you are confident in your capabilities in stakeholder management and collaboration to identify new areas for support and improvement across a Nordic organisation. Ideal candidates have a few years of relevant experience, excel in a landscape between data engineers and business and with an analytical mindset and experience of working with Microsoft PowerBi and SQL.
The role will be part of a Nordic team of three people, and reports to Performance Analytics Manager. The sub-team is part or the Performance Analytics and Insights team of nine people. The position can be based at one of our Nordic Campuses in Norway, Sweden or Finland.
Responsibility areas
As Business Analyst, Performance Analytics you will collaborate with any part of the Nordic Customers organization, including sales & service, payment & invoicing among many others to understands their business needs. You will To constantly improve our quality and availability of data, you will be the link between Nordic Customers Teams and the internal data team, supporting the development and maintenance of data pipelines with input on logic, harmonization, definitions and new data needs.
You are tasked with both shorter and longer project in addition to ad-hoc tasks. You will strive for automating tasks when its possible. You will work both with developing KPI:s and data models on request but as well proactively. Your great autonomy and flexibility in creating the solution enables you to use tools you best believes supports the need, even if it’s more advanced such as machine learning.
As the bridge between data engineers and business you will keep the end-users informed and educated of new models, KPI:s and reports. In addition, work closely with the rest of the analysts to ensure we are building best overall solution and share our best practices across areas. You will be responsible together with other analysts of the PowerBI app, maintaining access rights, automation and documentation.

Qualifications
- Higher relevant education, preferably in technology / economics / statistics, with emphasis on quantitative subjects.
- Proven experience in PowerBI including:
- Advanced knowledge of DAX and M -languages, and their pros and cons.
- Ability to work as a Power BI Service workspace admin and a champion who drives insight-driven culture forward.
- Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, R and visualization tools like PowerBI is an advantage.
- Experience in working with a data warehouse or data lake utilizing Azure and Databricks or similar.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus, but not required.
- Good written and verbal ability in English and any of the Nordic languages. Fortum’s working language is English.
- Work experience in relevant field, with proven track-record of creating business growth or improved collaboration through visualization of data.
Personal qualifications: To succeed in this position, you need strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to structured problem-solving. A commercial mindset, high drive, and target orientation are key, as well as being an effective communicator and relationship-builder. Being self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively is crucial, along with attention to detail in your work. You are also curious and innovative with a focus on applying new technologies, automation of tasks and using hypothesis testing in your problem-solving approach.
